Chimney Rock State Park

Named after the 315-foot monolith that towers above the Hickory Nut Gorge, Chimney Rock offers breathtaking 75-mile views from the lookout area. Chimney Rock State Park comprises roughly 4,000 acres on the north and south sides of the Hickory Nut Gorge and is the ideal place to spend a day exploring the dynamic terrain of this region. Biltmore houseBiltmore Estate


The Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC is less than 25 minutes from our Cabins for Rent in NC Mountains. Built in 1895 by George Vanderbilt II, the Biltmore House was originally situated on 125,000 acres of rolling Blue Ridge countryside. The Biltmore Estate itself comprises 4 acres of 175,000 square feet of grandiose refinement. George Vanderbilt had the Biltmore Estate outfitted with a 70,000 gallon indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, two-story library, original Vanderbilt fine art, furnishings and antiques, forced-air heating and intercom system. In all, the estate has 250 rooms, 35 that were reserved for guests and family, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces and 3 kitchens. Today, the estate is located on 8,000 acres of land, 75 of which are manicured formal gardens. Visitors can tour the Biltmore Home and Gardens, the sprawling countryside and beautiful Biltmore Vineyards or enjoy numerous activities like carriage rides, horseback riding, river float trips, biking, hiking, fly-fishing and the one-of-a-kind Land Rover driving school.
